Encrypted before it leaves
Your note is sealed on your device with keys only you and your recipient hold. The server passes along text it can't read.
Why it's different
Many apps can read what you send through them. TakeNote is built so it can't.
Gone once delivered
The server deletes its copy as soon as your note is collected. Anything never collected is deleted after seven days.
Your passphrase is the key
Only you know it, so only you can unlock your notes. Forget it and they can't be recovered by anyone, including us.
Honest about the limits
Who you send to, when, and how much are visible to whoever runs the service. What you write stays private, even from us.
How it works
Set up once, in a few minutes. After that, a note is a few seconds.

Add TakeNote to Chrome
Install the extension. It sits in your toolbar, one click away on any page.

Sign up and set it up
Create an account and choose a username. TakeNote then makes your keys, protected by a passphrase only you know.

Write, pick a name, send
Type a note, enter someone's username and send. It lands in their Inbox, and only they can open it.
Notes for one person, and no one else.
